pumpkins.witches.cats.oh my.

That spooky month of ghosts and orange and black hues is upon us. The weather is changing, getting crisper and colder. I'm in the mood to pull out my ever growing Halloween decorations and start casting the Halloween magic inside and outside of my house. My taste in Halloween is all about nostalgic looking pieces for me. Not sure why but my eye is drawn to certain motifs that are charming, old fashioned, semi folk art and whimsical combined.

Here's a look at my Halloween decor in my living room. I have a huge window/shelf area behind my couch and I love to do a whole holiday theme there for the Fall and Winter holidays. My kids love it but I think I may just love it a little bit more.

A black crow....the witche's most faithful minon pearched atop a gathering of crosses and glittery pumpkins.

A hissing kitty on honeycomb and glittery chandeliers hang from the ceiling overlooking the grouping of my favorite whimsical pumpkins witches and past Halloween photographs in black frames.

What are you spookyifying your house with?

Check out this awesome 13 Days of Trick or Treat memo board by the amazing Matthew Meade. Think Christmas Advent calendar but for Halloween. These are two different versions. I love both. He uses alot of the cool Halloween imagery that I love and has a bunch of downloads to print here .

These are the cute Halloween images. love them.

Such a cute Halloween project to do. Gather little trinkets, candy, ribbons, use the print outs on a frame, an existing memo board, a piece of twine or ribbon or even hang from branch spray painted black! Ideas are endless. Can't wait to get started on mine! If you decide to make one, let me know! I'd love to see it!

This is my wreath on the front door that has seen better days. I made it a while ago and it's falling apart in places and poor pumpkins are missing eyes. lol My husband threw away a box of halloween decorations two years ago "by accident" and I'm missing the wreath I had originally done the first Halloween we celebrated here in this house. So sad, it was so cute. anyway...

Still need to finish up the outside. Add the blowup pumpkins and Pull out the spiderwebs and skeleton and we are ready to go! Hope everyone has a fab weekend, whatever you decide to do. I think we might take the kids to pick out their pumpkins at Borchard Farms. It's an annual tradition and I'm looking forward to it!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!

It's May already? Where has the time gone? We are almost halfway through Twenty10! I've been playing with paper and glue lately and recently came up with this layout featuring the new Spring Tags from Shabby Shic Crafts! Loving the awesome Springtime colors and cute designs Veronica and Albert have come up with this time around. This silly little picture of me and my daughter was taken from one of those token taking machines that take your picture and the computer "draws" it out on paper. You know the the ones they have at Chuck E. Cheese type of places? Of all the pictures I have, this has got to be one of my favorite ones I have of me and my baby girl when she was about one and a half. A little closer. loving the cluster above the picture. To celebrate NSD, Shabby Shic Crafts and the Design Team Members are hosting a fun Blog Hop and giveaway! Leave a comment for a chance to win a package of 30 fantastic Tags from Shabby Shic! Where's that baby, huh?

Lot's of emails waiting for me in my inbox that had not been checked in almost one month in a half, (Gasp!!!!) that had been asking if I had given birth yet or if I was going on a 2 year long pregnancy. Even though it seemed that way, either that or I was having a 20 lb baby (ouch..or a 12 lb'er like my local sb friend!)....anywhoo..... Aubrielle Rose Padilla came into this world a whole 2 weeks early, much to my surprise, because I was expecting her around the 14th!... she weighed a hefty 7.2 lbs (I'm kidding, since J was a 9 lber!!) and was a full 20 inches long. She's got all 10 fingers and toes, a full head of dark hair, and she's Jaden's mini me, just a smaller version of him, but with girl parts. lol Hard delivery, long delivery, it seriously dropped kicked me on my caboose. Aubrielle had a bad case of jaundace that we had to address with daily trips to the hopspital but I'm happy to report that she's much better now. I'm sorry this post dos
