Inspired by Home Decor

Hi Friends!

I had the fab opportunity to have a girls creative escape day with my friends Veronica Milian of Shabby Chic Crafts and Marie Ramirez. Marie was gracious enough to host our little crafty little get together and instantly I was enamored by her simple yet crafty chic decorating style. Marie is a DIY girl and has made her living room a comfy happy place to hang out. The most stand out part of her living room is a feature wall consisting of a mish-mosh of frames and plaques. I loved it and thought it would be a great jumping off point of inspo for us to create from!

The color palette of turquoise, grey, white and black and the arrangement are a great source to
translate into a scrapbook page. It became the centerpiece of our challenge for the day. Create a page inspired by Maire's wall.

Here is what we came up with!

I had to take a picture of my layout in Marie's antique typewriter! How cool is that?

Veronica's layout featuring her newest addition to the family...baby Ethan!! So cute!!
So the next time your looking through your favorite home decor magazine or admiring your friends decorating skills......take those ideas straight to a scrapbook page! Inspiration is everywhere!
Veronica gave us both some fabulous tags from her newest collection and hopefully this weekend I can get some scrapbooking done. Lookout for those layouts soon!Since Autumn is approaching and I'm looking forward to pulling ot my Fall decor and embellishing my home with splashes of browns, golds, pumpkins and scarecrows!
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I know I'm looking forward to my 3 day weekend!! Yay!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!

It's May already? Where has the time gone? We are almost halfway through Twenty10! I've been playing with paper and glue lately and recently came up with this layout featuring the new Spring Tags from Shabby Shic Crafts! Loving the awesome Springtime colors and cute designs Veronica and Albert have come up with this time around. This silly little picture of me and my daughter was taken from one of those token taking machines that take your picture and the computer "draws" it out on paper. You know the the ones they have at Chuck E. Cheese type of places? Of all the pictures I have, this has got to be one of my favorite ones I have of me and my baby girl when she was about one and a half. A little closer. loving the cluster above the picture. To celebrate NSD, Shabby Shic Crafts and the Design Team Members are hosting a fun Blog Hop and giveaway! Leave a comment for a chance to win a package of 30 fantastic Tags from Shabby Shic! Where's that baby, huh?

Lot's of emails waiting for me in my inbox that had not been checked in almost one month in a half, (Gasp!!!!) that had been asking if I had given birth yet or if I was going on a 2 year long pregnancy. Even though it seemed that way, either that or I was having a 20 lb baby (ouch..or a 12 lb'er like my local sb friend!)....anywhoo..... Aubrielle Rose Padilla came into this world a whole 2 weeks early, much to my surprise, because I was expecting her around the 14th!... she weighed a hefty 7.2 lbs (I'm kidding, since J was a 9 lber!!) and was a full 20 inches long. She's got all 10 fingers and toes, a full head of dark hair, and she's Jaden's mini me, just a smaller version of him, but with girl parts. lol Hard delivery, long delivery, it seriously dropped kicked me on my caboose. Aubrielle had a bad case of jaundace that we had to address with daily trips to the hopspital but I'm happy to report that she's much better now. I'm sorry this post dos
