Stop Signs

Driving out of the Albertson's Grocery store parking lot, I see this stop sign that reads "Never Stop Trying". Quite interesting, I thought. I wonder who did this? What was the reasoning behind it? Where there more "altered signs" out there? I went driving around the shopping center and found more of them........Creating, Living, Giving, Laughing, Caring and loving.

How cool was that?

Yeah, it was vandalizing.......but so thought provoking. This reminded me about the things that Heidi Swapp spoke of in her "What's Your Game" Playing Cards Class/Lecture at the Scrap ETC Event a few weeks ago...........she had all these huge 5 x 7 deck of cards that she had altered with different positive messages. Things and topics you needed to remind yourself of.....postitive messages about being a strong woman and giving yourself this as a creative outlet to let things go.

I took this concept and ran with it. I directly went home and created this playing card.

I loaded tons of Heidi Swapp goodies on this card! First time using her alphabet silhouettes and iron on fuzzy letters! Got to finally use my little HS Iron!

That woman totally Rocks.......I see a few more of these cards in my future!

So what's your Game?

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!

It's May already? Where has the time gone? We are almost halfway through Twenty10! I've been playing with paper and glue lately and recently came up with this layout featuring the new Spring Tags from Shabby Shic Crafts! Loving the awesome Springtime colors and cute designs Veronica and Albert have come up with this time around. This silly little picture of me and my daughter was taken from one of those token taking machines that take your picture and the computer "draws" it out on paper. You know the the ones they have at Chuck E. Cheese type of places? Of all the pictures I have, this has got to be one of my favorite ones I have of me and my baby girl when she was about one and a half. A little closer. loving the cluster above the picture. To celebrate NSD, Shabby Shic Crafts and the Design Team Members are hosting a fun Blog Hop and giveaway! Leave a comment for a chance to win a package of 30 fantastic Tags from Shabby Shic! Where's that baby, huh?

Lot's of emails waiting for me in my inbox that had not been checked in almost one month in a half, (Gasp!!!!) that had been asking if I had given birth yet or if I was going on a 2 year long pregnancy. Even though it seemed that way, either that or I was having a 20 lb baby (ouch..or a 12 lb'er like my local sb friend!)....anywhoo..... Aubrielle Rose Padilla came into this world a whole 2 weeks early, much to my surprise, because I was expecting her around the 14th!... she weighed a hefty 7.2 lbs (I'm kidding, since J was a 9 lber!!) and was a full 20 inches long. She's got all 10 fingers and toes, a full head of dark hair, and she's Jaden's mini me, just a smaller version of him, but with girl parts. lol Hard delivery, long delivery, it seriously dropped kicked me on my caboose. Aubrielle had a bad case of jaundace that we had to address with daily trips to the hopspital but I'm happy to report that she's much better now. I'm sorry this post dos
