Dumb Move.......laugh at me if you must.

Pulled a rookie move yesterday. Had to drive to the post office to send a layout out for pub and since I left work about 1 hour early, I figure.........hmmmmmmmm, I can go to Wally World to develop some pics before I get Jaden at the sitters. Perfect Plan. Put my pix in the 1 hour, did some shopping, looked at the Music Section........looking for the new Nelly Furtado Cd......duh, doesn't come out until June 20th. Loving her new single with Timbaland, Promicouous Girl is a HOTT track!........anyway, back to the topic at hand...........I pick up my pictures, look at the clock and say Holey Crap! I have 15 minutes until I have to pick up Jaden! I jam to my car, put my purchases in, which included a new booster car seat for J........and I shut the door. Then pull the handle to get in the driver's seat AND damn. Guess what I did?

LOCKED THE FRIGGEN KEYS IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm telling you, total rookie move.

No cell phone, no money. Nutin. Everything is locked in the car. Don't ask me how I did it, because I have no idea.

I walked back to Walmart and try to collect call someone. Did you know that you cannot place a collect call to a cell phone? Well, you can't. David is only availiable through his cell, so that was out and anyone else on a cell for that matter. So I call my sisters house. Apparently when you make a collect call, they record you saying your name and it plays for the person you are calling. The call goes through at my sisters and my niece answers. YES! Someone!!!! Danielle says "Are you calling from Jail?"

WHAT????????????????????

Evidently for her, calling collect means you got locked up and you are using the ONE call they allow you before they cage you up in the striped outfit and shackles.

After I assure her that I'm not in the pokie, I explain the sitch and she says, ok I'll be right there. By this time it's 6 o'clock already. I'm late to pick up my son. I see security and flag them down. It dawns on me that DUH, I have AAA Insurance!!! They can send someone to unlock my car!! I borrow the security lady's cell phone and make the arrangements. They tell me it will be 35 minutes. Not that bad. Right then Danielle gets there and I try to remember my sitters phone number. Can't remember it to save my friggen life. I never dial it, I just press one button and presto........note to self, memorize babysitters phone number. and no it was not listed, i tried that.

We hop in my nieces car and pick up Jaden. Put him in the car, with no car seat! Quite ironic that in my friggen LOCKED car I have not one but 2 car seats, but whatever. Guess I could have borrowed the sitters extra one, but I was not thinking. We make it back in record time and meet up with the tow truck that is there. He tells me that he was about to leave, but the security lady stalled him. Thank you Security Lady!!!

He tapes up my windows, wedges this black, flat and square thing in the window/door and proceeds to use a pump that is attached and it made the door open about an inch. Then inserts this long wire handle thing and hits the unlock button.

PRESTO! Open door! Thank GOD!

so yeah.
my little ooooooopsie.
but even worse it would have been if........
Jaden was in the car.
can you imagine?

That was my lovely evening.
Nothing to watch on tv.
No more American Idol :(

BUT

The HILLS start Tonight on MTV!
totally looking forward to that!

  1. What a nightmare! If Jaden had been in there, you would've had to bust out the window!!!

  2. That is SO something I would do. I've done something similar and now I'm OCD about checking for my keys before closing Morgan's door.

My friend who has the twins pulled a smooth one one time when she was over here. She put Ava in the car and gave her her keys to play with while going to get Riza. Well, Ava hit the door lock button. Thankfully the back truck part was open for the stroller so she crawled through. I would have never thought about that lock button on the keyring so it was a lesson for us both!

Hmm.. do you think this reply is too long to post? Guess we'll see. After all I had to give your blog some love since you MADE me! LMAO

  3. LMAO

We have all done the lock the keys in and some of us have locked the kids in too. Tow truck companies will prioritize the call if child locked in vehicle. And not charge you for it either. My biggest ooops was locking the keys in the trunk of the car, when I was an hour away from the nearest spare set.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!

It's May already? Where has the time gone? We are almost halfway through Twenty10! I've been playing with paper and glue lately and recently came up with this layout featuring the new Spring Tags from Shabby Shic Crafts! Loving the awesome Springtime colors and cute designs Veronica and Albert have come up with this time around. This silly little picture of me and my daughter was taken from one of those token taking machines that take your picture and the computer "draws" it out on paper. You know the the ones they have at Chuck E. Cheese type of places? Of all the pictures I have, this has got to be one of my favorite ones I have of me and my baby girl when she was about one and a half. A little closer. loving the cluster above the picture. To celebrate NSD, Shabby Shic Crafts and the Design Team Members are hosting a fun Blog Hop and giveaway! Leave a comment for a chance to win a package of 30 fantastic Tags from Shabby Shic! Where's that baby, huh?

Lot's of emails waiting for me in my inbox that had not been checked in almost one month in a half, (Gasp!!!!) that had been asking if I had given birth yet or if I was going on a 2 year long pregnancy. Even though it seemed that way, either that or I was having a 20 lb baby (ouch..or a 12 lb'er like my local sb friend!)....anywhoo..... Aubrielle Rose Padilla came into this world a whole 2 weeks early, much to my surprise, because I was expecting her around the 14th!... she weighed a hefty 7.2 lbs (I'm kidding, since J was a 9 lber!!) and was a full 20 inches long. She's got all 10 fingers and toes, a full head of dark hair, and she's Jaden's mini me, just a smaller version of him, but with girl parts. lol Hard delivery, long delivery, it seriously dropped kicked me on my caboose. Aubrielle had a bad case of jaundace that we had to address with daily trips to the hopspital but I'm happy to report that she's much better now. I'm sorry this post dos
