I made this as a gift for my cousin's birthday last Friday. We all ate dinner together to celebrate Patricia's birthday and it was girls only. No husbands, no boyfriends allowed. Just us chickas.
My first mini book ever. No pictures, just quotes from Kobi Yamada's "She" book. It took me about 4 hours from start to finish. It was totally fun to make. Just pulling things left and right, tearing, layering, stamping, painting and being really messy. So totally fun to not have any restrictions and just play and have fun and create.
Very cool.
Very artsy.
Very awesome.
It seriously brought her to tears. She loved it. I didn't know if she would "get" it but she did. There are some peeps out there that don't get what we do with our art. They might think it's dumb or a waste of time. Not this girl, she got it and it did mean alot to me that she appreciated it. After Trish opened it, everyone wanted to see it. I looked at thier reactions as they read the qoutes. The She quotes that everyone seemed to like the most was "She woke up one day and threw away all of her excuses." It seemed to touch a cord with these women.
If you haven't already read the "She" book by Mr. Yamada.
Check it out.
It's so worth it.
Then you can make one of these books for a special woman in your life. Be it your sister, mother or best friend.
I think I might make some more of these for Christmas Gifts......yep, think so.

Friday was also my 5th wedding anniversary.
Dave had to work so we decided to celebrate it on Saturday. But my wonderful husband had other plans. I had friday off and he got up early, to let me sleep in. He got Jaden ready and took him to the sitters. He came home and woke me up with a Pumpkin latte and paistry from Starbucks. He also had a card and a little gift bag.
Sneaky little dude.
We had decided not to exchange gifts, just go to dinner and a movie.
Dude made other plans...........his card was beauiful and mushy just the way I like them (with a Starbuks GC inside too!) and the little box contained a gorgeous white gold and diamond encrusted ring.
Very nice.
I was a happy camper.
I love my D.
